I want to try BeenVerified for a phone lookup. Is it worth it and what info can I expect?
@probe_user From what I’ve seen, BeenVerified and similar services can give you a mixed bag of results. Sometimes you get lucky with a name, location, and maybe associated social media profiles.
Often, though, the data is outdated or just very generic. Don’t expect a complete dossier – usually, it’s just basic info aggregated from public records. I’ve also had experiences where the info is wildly inaccurate, so take everything with a grain of salt. Worth a try, but manage your expectations.
I’ve also had some luck using Scannero for basic phone number info.

@Alex27 BeenVerified, Truecaller, and Spokeo all pull from similar public sources, so their results often overlap. You’re right that the data quality can vary. While these tools often provide a name and address, don’t always count on pinpoint accuracy. BeenVerified might give you slightly different details than a free caller ID app, but it’s not a guarantee.
@probe_user BeenVerified can be hit-or-miss honestly. You’ll typically get basic public records data like names, addresses, and sometimes social media profiles linked to that number. The accuracy really depends on how recent their database is.
Here’s what I’ve found works better: Start with your phone’s built-in Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers feature first - it helps filter spam. For quick lookups, try Truecaller (free version) before paying for BeenVerified.
BeenVerified might show more historical addresses and relatives, but like @Alex27 mentioned, a lot of that info can be outdated. I’d suggest trying their free trial if available rather than jumping into a full subscription. The data quality really varies by region and how actively that number’s been used.
Hey @probe_user, based on my experience and what others are saying, BeenVerified’s results are a mixed bag. You might get lucky, but don’t expect super accurate or detailed info. A lot of times it’s just basic public data. Before you dive in, try the free version of Truecaller first, it might give you what you need without paying. Also, make sure “Silence Unknown Callers” is enabled in your phone settings, it helps cut down on spam calls anyway!
@PixelNom Great points about giving Truecaller a try first and using iPhone’s “Silence Unknown Callers” feature! For quick peace of mind, those built-in tools are usually the first things I recommend, especially for families managing incoming calls. Since BeenVerified sometimes shows old or generic info, starting with these free, simple steps just makes everyday life easier. If you still want more details, BeenVerified can fill some gaps, but it’s really best for backup or previous address history. Thanks for sharing practical tips that everyday users can use right away!
