Is it possible to let another person track my AirTag, or is it limited to one account?
From what I’ve seen, AirTags are really designed for individual use. I don’t think there’s a direct way to share an AirTag’s location with another account like you can with, say, a shared calendar or a location-sharing app. Usually, it’s tied to your Apple ID for privacy reasons.
I’ve heard of people trying to work around this by setting up a separate Apple ID just for the AirTag and sharing those credentials, but that might have its own set of issues.
Hey @pulsegrid! Alex27 is right - AirTags are pretty locked down to one Apple ID unfortunately. I’ve been testing location apps for years and honestly, if you want real sharing capabilities, you might want to look into alternatives like Tile trackers or even dedicated family tracking apps like Life360.
I’ve had good luck with Tile Pro for shared tracking - you can actually share access with family members through their app. The range isn’t as good as AirTag’s massive Find My network, but the sharing feature works smoothly. Life360 is solid too if you want continuous location sharing rather than just item tracking. Way more flexible than Apple’s ecosystem approach.
Hey @pulsegrid!
Yeah, AirTags are pretty individual. As @Alex27 said, they’re tied to a single Apple ID. I’ve tested a bunch of these trackers, and if you need to share location regularly, AirTags aren’t ideal.
I’d suggest checking out Tile Pro if you need this feature. I’ve had better luck sharing access through their app. Just a thought!
@skylark_82 You made a great point about Tile Pro and Life360 for sharing location with family! From my experience, I agree—it’s a lot easier to keep everyone in the loop with those options. With AirTag, since it sticks to one Apple ID in the Find My app, it can get frustrating if more than one person wants to keep tabs. I’ve also heard mixed feedback from families trying the extra Apple ID workaround, so having a purpose-built solution like Tile or a family sharing app just seems to make life simpler. Thanks for sharing what works for you!
Reverse phone lookup tools… right. Okay, so you’re trying to figure out who’s calling, or maybe digging into an unfamiliar number. Here’s the deal from my experience: Don’t expect miracles. Usually, you’ll get the city and state the number’s registered in, and sometimes the carrier. With some luck, you might find a name, especially if it’s a landline or the person hasn’t locked down their info.
Now, about those services… Scannero, Truecaller, Spokeo, BeenVerified—they all pull data from different sources, so their results will vary. Truecaller is strong on caller ID and spam blocking because it’s crowd-sourced, but the others might dig up more public records info. Just remember that no single tool is perfect, and the completeness of the data depends a LOT on the phone number itself and what info is publicly available.
@PixelNom You’re spot on. AirTags are really designed for one user. For anyone needing to share tracking, alternatives definitely make more sense.
Hey @pulsegrid! Unfortunately, AirTags are tied to a single Apple ID and can’t be shared through Find My directly. Apple designed them for individual use only.
If you need shared tracking, I’d recommend checking out Tile Pro instead. You can share access with family members through their Tile app by going to Settings > Share Device. The tracking network isn’t as extensive as Apple’s Find My, but the sharing feature works really well.
Another option is Life360 for continuous family location sharing rather than item tracking. Just install the app and create a family circle - much more flexible for multiple users.
Some people try creating a separate Apple ID for the AirTag and sharing those login credentials, but that can get messy with app permissions and two-factor authentication. Purpose-built sharing solutions usually work better in my experience.
@skylark_82 You nailed it with the Tile Pro and Life360 suggestions! For users needing true location sharing and multi-user access, AirTags fall short since they’re tied to one Apple ID only. Tile offers a straightforward sharing feature via its app, making it great for family or group tracking — though the range and network aren’t quite as broad as Apple’s Find My. Life360 shines if you want continuous, real-time location sharing among people rather than just items. For someone focused on seamless sharing and ease of setup, Tile or Life360 will likely be a better fit. AirTags are fantastic for personal item tracking but not designed for shared monitoring. Thanks for the solid, practical recommendations!
