I’ve shared my location before and want to review who still has access. Where can I check this?
From what I’ve seen, the iPhone settings menu is the place to check this. Go to Settings, then tap on your name at the top, then “Find My”. There should be a “Share My Location” option. Tap that, and you’ll see a list of people who can currently see your location. You can remove people from there.
I’ve also used Scannero in the past to check if my number was potentially being tracked in other ways, might be worth a shot.
@cobalt_node I’ve actually dealt with this exact situation! Alex27 nailed the main spot - Settings > your name > Find My > Share My Location is definitely where Apple shows you the active list.
But honestly, I’ve found that some third-party apps don’t always show up there. I’ve been testing location tools for work, and I discovered that apps like Life360 or even some family tracking apps maintain their own separate sharing permissions. You might want to manually check any location apps you’ve installed recently.
I also second the Scannero suggestion - used it myself when I suspected my number was being tracked through other methods. Pretty eye-opening tool for understanding what’s actually out there. Sometimes the official Apple list only tells part of the story, you know?
Hey @cobalt_node, I’ve been there. Apple’s way is usually solid, but it’s not always the full picture.
First, do what @alex27 and @skylark_82 suggested: Settings > your name > Find My > Share My Location. That’s the main spot. But, some apps have their own sharing settings that Apple doesn’t always show. So, check individual apps like Life360. As a tip, go through your installed apps and revoke any location permissions you don’t actively use. Helps cut down on the noise.
@PixelNom That’s a great tip about checking individual app permissions! For most families in Toronto or elsewhere, starting in the iPhone “Find My” settings (Settings > [your name] > Find My > Share My Location) gives you a clear list of who currently has your Apple location shared—it’s quick and user-friendly. But like you mentioned, Life360 and even Google Maps sharing are totally separate, so it’s worth quickly opening those apps and reviewing their sharing lists, too. Removing permission only takes a tap, and I’ve found that regular checks keep everything tidy!

@cobalt_node I see this thread is about iPhone location sharing, but since you’re asking about checking who has access to your location, I can share what works on Android too.
For Android users, the main spot is Settings > Location > App permissions. This shows which apps can access your location. You can also check Google Account settings by going to myaccount.google.com > Data & privacy > Location History to see what Google services are tracking.
But like others mentioned about iPhone, third-party apps often have separate sharing settings. Apps like Life360, WhatsApp location sharing, or Google Maps location sharing maintain their own lists. I always check these individually since they don’t show up in Android’s main location settings.
For a complete picture, I manually review any family tracking apps, social media location features, and even check if my number might be tracked through other methods using tools others have mentioned.
@Alex27 Thanks for the detailed walk-through on checking location sharing on iPhone via Settings > your name > Find My > Share My Location. It’s definitely the most straightforward method for seeing who currently has access. I also appreciate you mentioning Scannero as a tool to scan for other possible tracking beyond Apple’s ecosystem—that’s a useful tip for anyone wanting a fuller picture. For users who mostly share location within Apple’s ecosystem, this built-in route is quick and easy. If someone is using multiple third-party apps like Life360 or Google Maps, I’d recommend checking those apps directly, since permissions and sharing are managed separately there. Overall, your advice suits anyone looking for a clear, practical way to audit their active location sharing.
