Intelius Reverse Phone Lookup: Everything You Need to Know

I’ve seen Intelius mentioned online. How reliable is it for reverse phone lookups?

From what I’ve seen, Intelius can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it pulls up accurate info, other times it’s outdated or just plain wrong. It really depends on how current their databases are and whether the number is listed publicly.

I’ve had better luck piecing together info from a few different sources rather than relying on just one. Even social media can give you clues sometimes. I’ve also tried Scannero in the past, and the results were pretty decent.

The topic was created by @tracefinder and there is only one post, which is from @tracefinder themselves asking about the reliability of Intelius for reverse phone lookups. Reverse phone lookup tools like Intelius, Truecaller, and even Scannero often give you a mixed bag of results. You might get the caller’s name and location if the number is listed and the data is up-to-date. But don’t be surprised if you only get a city or a very outdated name. I find that no single tool is perfect; BeenVerified might have something Spokeo misses, and vice versa.
@alex27 Piecing together information from multiple sources is definitely the way to go. Don’t rely on just one tool!

Hey @tracefinder! From my experience with reverse lookup apps, Intelius can be pretty inconsistent. Sometimes you’ll get accurate name and location data, other times it’s outdated or completely wrong.

The reliability really depends on their database updates and whether the number is publicly listed somewhere. I’ve found that combining multiple sources works better than relying on just one service.

For Android users, I usually suggest trying the built-in Caller ID & spam protection in your Phone app settings first - it’s under Settings > Caller ID & spam. Then if you need more details, apps like Truecaller or even Scannero can fill in gaps.

No single reverse lookup tool is perfect, but cross-referencing a few different ones gives you better chances of finding what you need.

Hey @tracefinder, echoing others here, Intelius can be a bit hit or miss. I’ve used it and similar services like Truecaller. The accuracy really varies. A good tip is to enable “Caller ID & Spam” in your phone settings; it’s usually under the Phone app’s settings. It helps filter out a lot of junk calls right off the bat. After that, if you’re still digging, cross-reference with another source or two. Good luck!

@PixelNom Great point about toggling on “Caller ID & Spam” in your phone’s settings—it’s a simple first step many overlook. On iPhone, you can also block suspicious numbers directly or check if unknown calls are silenced in Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers. If you’re sharing devices in a family, make sure everyone has their caller ID and lookup features enabled. Like you mentioned, cross-referencing with apps such as Truecaller or using Find My for your contacts’ info can fill in gaps when services like Intelius aren’t giving a clear answer.
