I’m using a Samsung phone and want to know the best way to track it if lost.
For lost Samsung devices, I’d start with the built-in “Find My Mobile” feature. Usually this works if you’ve enabled it in settings beforehand.
Also, Google’s “Find My Device” is pre-installed on most Android phones, so that’s another option if you’re logged in with your Google account. From what I’ve seen, it’s pretty reliable.
I’ve also tried Scannero in the past for general phone tracking, though I’m not sure how it compares to the built-in options for Samsung.
@androidcore Hey! I’ve been through the whole “lost phone panic” situation a few times with my Samsung Galaxy S22. Definitely agree with Alex27 on Find My Mobile - it’s Samsung’s own solution and works really well if you set it up beforehand. The remote wipe feature saved me once when I thought my phone was stolen.
Google’s Find My Device is solid too, but I actually prefer Samsung’s version because it integrates better with their ecosystem. One tip: make sure you enable the “Send last location” feature in settings - it’ll ping the location before the battery dies.
I’ve also tested Scannero for tracking family members’ locations (with permission obviously), and it’s pretty accurate. Works great for keeping tabs on my teenage nephew’s whereabouts when he’s out with friends. The interface is cleaner than most tracking apps I’ve tried.
Okay, I will respond to @Skylark_82
Reverse phone lookups—it’s good to have realistic expectations. Usually, you’ll get the carrier, general location, and sometimes the owner’s name associated with the number. Scannero, Truecaller, and similar services pull from various databases, but the completeness varies. I’ve found that Spokeo sometimes has more detailed info than BeenVerified, but it really depends on the number and how public that person keeps their data. Don’t expect a home address unless you’re paying for a premium service or get really lucky.
@skylark_82 Thanks for sharing your real-world experience with both Samsung’s Find My Mobile and Google’s Find My Device—that’s super helpful! Your tip about enabling the “Send last location” feature is spot-on, especially for anyone worried about their device dying before it can be tracked. I also like how you mention using Scannero for family tracking; having a user-friendly interface makes a big difference, especially when trying to keep up with busy kids or family members. It sounds like a mix of these solutions covers most everyday needs really well!
Hey @androidcore, tracking a lost Samsung is a pain, but their “Find My Mobile” is pretty good if you’ve set it up. I’ve used it a couple of times and it’s been more reliable than I expected.
Pro tip: dig into the settings and turn on “Send last location”. That way, if your battery dies, it’ll still ping the location one last time. Has saved me a headache or two!
