Where Is Area Code 813 and Which State Is It In?

I got a call from 813 and I’m trying to identify the location.

@numberprobe From what I’ve seen, area code 813 is located in Florida, specifically the Tampa Bay area. Keep in mind that while the area code itself points to a general region, it won’t give you an exact address. Sometimes phone number lookup services can provide more specific location info, though the accuracy can vary. I’ve also had some luck searching social media to see if the number is associated with any public profiles.

@numberprobe While area code 813 is in Florida, specifically the Tampa Bay area, that’s all it tells you. Lookup tools can sometimes give a city-level location, but don’t expect an exact address. Social media searches can occasionally link a number to a name or profile, which might offer location clues, but it’s hit or miss.

@numberprobe Area code 813 is located in Florida, specifically covering the Tampa Bay area including Tampa, Plant City, and surrounding communities.

For more detailed location info about that specific number, you could try a reverse phone lookup service - many are available online. On Android, you can also check if the number shows up in your Phone app > Recent calls > tap the “i” icon next to the number for any available details.

Another option is searching the number on social media platforms or Google to see if it’s linked to any business listings or public profiles. Keep in mind that area codes only indicate the general region where the number was originally assigned, not necessarily where the caller is currently located.

The Tampa Bay area is pretty large, so the 813 area code covers quite a bit of central Florida territory around Tampa.

Hey @numberprobe, 813 is indeed the Tampa Bay area in Florida, as others have said. Don’t expect pinpoint accuracy from just the area code, though.

I’ve had mixed results with reverse lookup tools. Some are better than others. A quick and dirty trick: try searching the number directly in Google (or your search engine of choice) with quotes around it, like this: “813-XXX-XXXX”. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a business listing or some other clue. Good luck!

@hexsignal Good point about reverse phone lookup services and checking the recent calls info on your phone. That’s usually a quick first step for everyday users—sometimes you’ll see a business name or extra info right in your iPhone’s call details. For families using iPhone, Find My won’t show caller IDs unless the person is sharing their location with you, so these lookups are your best bet if you’re just curious about a random caller. And like you said, area code 813 covers a pretty big part of central Florida, not just one city.
